sp-505 and trigger finger

Post by Lawrence OneThree »

damn. i just spent 5 hours trying to control my 505 with my TF. i can't get any samples to play using the midi controller. it seems like i'm doing everything right. i read both manuals, programed the specific note numbers in enigma, made sure i was sending and receiving on the same channel, and tried every midi mode in the 505.

does anyone who has successfully used a trigger finger with their sp-505 have any ideas? or does anyone have a template made specifically for the 505? this is killing me. i just wasted a day of beatmaking on this.

i'm sorry mans, i've never tried. but i know there's a midi-how-to somewhere in the SPI section of this site. otherwise, olby was a 505 ninja, so he may be able to help and DJ frantic experimented with midi on the 505 quite a bit if i remember correctly. so those cats may be able to give you some input.

did you try using the 'search' function for 505 + midi? i mean, maybe it is just not possible....?

good luck.

I remember using TF with my 404 back in the day. After programming shit in enigma ( http://sp-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3& ... ger+finger ) it worked pretty flawlessly.

I recommend you hooking up TF with the default presets, hit all the pads on TF and check which samples are being triggered. Write it down somewhere, then open Enigma soft and try to spot some ~regularity(?). Compare the pad number which has been sucessfully triggered on 505 with the corresponding setting in enigma.

That's the way I set up my presets. Maybe also you can check midi implementation in 505's manual - could be some info there.

hope you gonna find the soulution finally!
