same thing happens to me, usually with loops or long samples like you said. it's kinda frustrating, i yearn to know the meaning....

It could be your memory card. Do you have another one to try out?

I don't know for a fact that a faulty memory card can cause this, but if this happened to me it would be the first thing I would check.

If you have a reg 404 try using the internal memory instead of the mem card maybe

i had this problem once or twice, i figured i was not holding the button down quite hard enough, and must have let go just enough for the button to skip without starting the sample again.

i guess if it keeps happening then you have a more serious problem.

when u resample its not good to resample everything in stereo. if u sample everything in stereo from sample to drums and try to play all at once it phases each other out causin the skippin. i normally sample drums in mono and hihats but the samples in stereo. i was gettin the skippin as well at first but that ended when i did that.

It has to do with the speed your memory card writes at. when i use my cheap ATP it skips occasionally. If i use my nice Sandisk Extreme III there is no problem. I usually need it in my camera though, since i find the speed beneficial. when it skips on the 404 i just gota re do it... BIG problem if im doing live takes or whatever  spending a lil extra on a fast card can pay off in workflow benifits
edit: i see you got a new card lol cool man good luck
