Communication between PC and 606

Post by jasonldrummer »

I am trying to hook up my 606 to my PC via USB. I did install the right drivers... but nothing.
I am wanting to export samples from my computer to the 606. What is the proper procedure doing this? I am new to this!
By the way, I have a Windows 98 SE operating system. I know, old school right? Thanks!

Hmmm check Roland's website; I think you may need different drivers for the 98 system..

Also, did you follow the procedure in the manual for connecting to PC? - the 606 has to be set to USB MASS STORAGE mode in the main menu.

So strange how the only time you can view sound names is when you card-load. In other words once assigned to pads the sounds lose their idenity, not really an issue to usage though- you have to follow the instructions on naming files exactly of they won't load up prop.

It's a bit of an issue - when you go to a club with 32 banks of samples, you need to have them all written down in a way that works for you!

I use a 16x16 grid, with sample names written in boxes and the bank number in big texta at the top
