Ok, so I just finished recording a track for my upcoming only-SP404 EP. The whole EP's being recorded in MONO, but for this track I decided to record it in STEREO, because I was quite proud of my work on it, because it had more soul than most of my beats.
I did the usual; I dug the crates, found some samples I thought I could make something out of, filtered out some stuff and added various effects, chopped it up, rearranged everything the way I wanted, added drums, tidied everything up, and I recorded it to my Tascam cassette recorder. Then I deleted everything from BANKS C-J to make sure I had enough room to record the track back to my CF Card.
Then I recorded the track back to my SP in STEREO. I was relieved the batteries lasted(I have to use the 404's power adapter on my cassette recorder because it came without one  ), and I then proceeded to exporting the track to my card, when the worst thing appears on the 404's screen.

FUL

I was using a 64 MB CF card, my biggest card, but I can't export it. I don't want to record the track again in MONO, so would someone who has a bigger card and also an SP-404 please be so kind and help me out?

I'll send you a PM with my ROLAND folder, and if it works out, please export the track, which is on PAD 9 on BANK J.

Thanks,

COMPUTERS

oh shit, im an idiot. so you add effects before chopping it up. im a retard. makes perfect sense tho, so i dont be resampling like 8 chops. COMPUTERS you are a genius. this will definitly help out my workflow.

Haha, thanks, man, it's nothing
Well, I usually do both, since I can't add more effects at once.
In this case I recorded the samples with the isolator effect, then I resampled everything compressed.
When I recorded my patterns to the cassette I used the vinyl simulator compressor on all samples, and when recording back to my 404 I added some reverb.

cool, i downloaded a few of your tapes and i really like them. they sound really thick i notice too, maybe thats the compressor bootsing them up. i hear the vinyl simulator on that fantastick track, i likes that one. groovey as hell. see, your beats sound full and well eq-ed this is the problem im having right now but ill figure it out. but just to let you know, i been banging that "just me and my samples " on my ipod for about a month now and i put my buddy on to it. good stuff.

Wow, I'm really glad to hear that. Do you use a cassette recorder, too?
Where could I listen to some of your tracks? Maybe I could help you out.
