404 vs ASR-10/EPS16+?

word up. I was thinking on getting an ol' skool ensoniq keyboard after reading the Wu Manual and El-P using the EPS16+. They are fairly cheap but I still gotta wonder if it would be worth it for the "gritty sound/amazing sampler" and effects.

You don't like the lo-fi setting on the SP's? Personally, I like the way this sampler sounds more than any outboard gear that I own. You got tweakable dirt with the SP! How much more can you ask for?

I got an EPS classic and ive never heard ne thing with the exception of an SP1200 that comes close to the sound. Its just the lo-fi... its something about the sampling engine. It just sounds real thick. You gotta hear it for yourself to appreciate it. The sequencer actually reminds me of the 404 sequencer. Alot of people hate on it cuz its not an MPC sequencer. I do think however, that Roland samplers have the best sound of the modern sampler hands down.
