what's up SP peeps?

i haven't shared a track in Your Music for awhile, been focusing hard on writing and performing live synth-based electronica (you can hear an example here )

but i have recently slapped out a little hip-hop beat, and i'd like to get your opinions on it.

especially the bassline, is the groove and pitch sitting nicely? i've spent too much time tweaking it to have an objective viewpoint!

hope you enjoy, please leave a comment if you think something sounds off or needs improving

peace

Nice one, I can never play the bass on my synth to match a sample in the correct key.

totally diggin it. like the 'bounce' in the drums, and yeah, the bass is great and i like the vox cuts.

my only suggestion is to vary up the four x's through. for ex: "my voice on them beats" - maybe only repeat it three times and have the last bar be a variation? you're using a 4-4-4-4 kinda structure for the most part throughout and a 3-1 would shake it up.

just for future ref even. good beat mans.

peace.

i dunno what kind of city you live in but you should consider making a little electronica duo....i think it would be awesome with this style

thanks for the comments guys :D

Fauna - that's a really good point and something I should definitely focus on switching up, gets a bit 'blocky' there with the 4 x 4!

i'm stoked you guys think the bass works, i spent hours sequencing that bad boy...only to convince myself it wasn't sitting right

HD - yeah I perform solo but also as a duo with my brother Nick; all live, all hardware  videos and live jam audio coming soon
really stoked you dig that D2 jam :P
