adding a sp404 to a dj setup

Post by infinite »

hi i would like to expand my dj setup by getting a sp404sx. i want to know if i can use it in a spare channel on a pioneer djm 800 whilst syncing it via the midi output on the mixer? i dont want to control them via each other just recieve the bpm from the mixer into the sampler
then i am thinking of getting kaossilator & plugging it into the rca input of the sp404 will it affect the bpm or will the sampler carry on recigniseing the bmp from the midi signal? i know you can manually enter bpm into a kaossilator but i am curiouse
thank you

midi going into the 404 would be fine.

the kaossilator has no midi functions, so it would not take any bpm information. you'd have to set that manually.

good luck.

i know that what i wanted to know is would the sampler allways read the midi bpm or would the kaossilator interfear with it?

Having incoming audio playing through the 404 will not cause the midi to lose sync with the DJM.

DJM=Master and 404=slave

thanks im really looking forward to start useing the sp404 & kaossilator in my sets but i am wondering is there a better option for what i want (name drops, mixing in loops, makeing wierd noises & live production) i was thinking of looking into a proper synth instead of the kaossilaotor but i like the fact you can stay in key, the percussion stuff, the arpegator & tha fact its small
What would you guys recomend? keep in mind i cant have anything too big as i have to make room for it amongst my dj stuff
