Selecting a pad to apply an effect to without triggering it

Post by crailtapper »

Hey guys,

New to the forum, new to the 404. I've had it less than a week and I'm getting pretty comfortable with it, but there's just one thing that's been bothering me. Lets say I've got a pattern playing and I'm triggering samples over it. How do I apply an effect to a sample that's either playing or being triggered real time without actually triggering it? I hope that's clear enough. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi, man, welcome to the forums
Hold REMAIN and hit the pad you want with the effect, let go, and choose the effect.
I think that would solve your problem. Know that you can also hit multiple pads while holding remain ;)

that's right ^^ and it will work.

and i think another way to do it would be, before triggering yr sequence, hold remain and apply the fx to the pads you want, then turn the fx off, hit the sequence to play, then hold tap tempo and hit the fx button. that will trigger the fx for as long as yr holding down the button.

that way you can trigger the fx to fit to yr sequence, and have more hands-on control.

good luck.

Thanks so much! I've been reading through the effects section of the manual and didn't see what I needed listed. Appreciate it!

hope the tips work out for you (actually look around the 404 section for "tips and tricks" - there's all sorts of stuff in there).
