adjusting sample levels live, and sampling patterns

hi there,
does anyone know how to adjust the levels of individual samples in a pattern sequence while the pattern is being played. For example, playing a sequence, and then turning down the volume of one sample while the pattern continues.
also, is it possible to sample a pattern sequence that has been previously recorded into the system? (i.e., moving a pattern sequence to a pad in one of the sampling banks.)
