Switching Effects

Post by mbillings »

Still contemplating buying the SP 555 after getting my 404 back for awhile. One thing that really bummed me out about the 404 is that when you switch effects there is a quick pause. In the 404 SX product description, Roland advertises seamless effect switching. Does the SP 555 have the same thing? I'm assuming so since it has that effect memory stuff.

yep no glitches no pauses

there is a slight pause if you use djfx though because it pauses the sound anyway...but thats it

Dope, thanks man. It's been my dream to get this thing for awhile. I started out as a 404 user and then went through Electribes, MPC500, SP606 etc. and now I'm back where I started with the workflow of the 555. Just need a few more paychecks...

there isn't a pause when switching effects but i think it's different than the 404sx. from the videos that i saw, the effects on the 404sx actually transition which would be a really cool feature to have. resampling can definitely take care of that though.
