Amiga Broken Beats

Post by 606man »

breakbeat pack.wav - 13.95MB

Here we go - some really, really oldschool samples for you guys!

I had to convert the files so that they would work with the SP series samplers, but trust me as they were 4 and 8 bit to start with, they sound the same as the originals..

There's about 16 different breakbeats in the pack, but they're all in one file for easy transfer. Cut 'em up in Audacity/Sound Forge, or just load the whole shebang into your SP and slice away.

The beats in this pack cannot be found ANYWHERE else! Even the ones sampled from Drum Machines have gone through the Amiga and so sound way different to the originals.

Most of the breaks are too fast (this was the early nineties, remember - RAVE!!!), but if you slice them up the individual hits will be very useful.

No worries :D ; more esoteric (and melodic!) amiga samples to come...

I'd love to hear what you guys come up with using these sounds as they have been hanging around my place for a very long time..

Oh yeah, I dig the old 1990's techno and industrial music. These are giving me some ideas. Hope you don't mind if I mangle your samples with my SK-1. Do you have any more synth like the one in the beat starting at 0:30.5 in the file?

EDIT: Oops, forgot to say thanks for sharing this with us. Sorry.

Glad to share! These samples would never see the light of day otherwise..

The synth sound is from the RY30 - I'll see about making a multisample of it :D
