big big big
but i love almost all the works by c mingus expecially "ah hum" and "oh yeah" and also this one you've posted. ah, and also "the black saint and the sinner lady".

al wilner, a good producer (in a traditional way), conceived a very good tribute to mingus with an album from 1992 called "weird nightmare" in wich different artists (coming from different areas: elvis costello-poprock-, chuck d-public enemy-, henry rollins-punk rock-, marc ribot-experimental,jazz- etc) make some interesting version of mingus tracks.

that's a nice gang.

that ahmad jamal is tight
yo niq you ever go to allied on Reynolds?
man they have some dope stuff.
the dollar soul and jazz and new age stuff is always being restocked.
also there is a place on Lagrange called Double A I think.
it's outragously stocked but the prices are a little high and the guy is weird.

yeah i go to the Reynolds spot and the goodwill over there too... if u go on a good day the goodwill will have some GREAT joints... i found a copy of "the Seekers" rock album in perfect condition that would fetch anywhere from 10 bucks and up for a buck...

ive been to that AA place and agree, w/ the prices... he busted me for some 45's @ almost 4 bucks a piece... they where some james brown joint so i got em but it was my last time goin... i also go to ramalamah on central and secor... the owner Rob is real cool but they arent as organized as Allied but u can still find some great joints on a bum day...

yeah shakin street is pretty cool, and they're a lil closer for me but ive only went once... i did get some great stuff from there that was like, records tey used for gymnastics and such from the 70's...

they only place i wont go 2 anymore is culture clash... one time the owner kinda came @ me like i was stealing records and all i was doin was scratching my arm... i understand that he wanted to protect business but WE were the only ones in there besides these 2 ppl @ the register and he had a clear view of me... i had 200 bucks in my pocket which wouldve been the most i ever spent @ one time but he lost out...

i tried to catch ur show the other day too, but my girl had a friend on her death bed so i had to chill with the kids...

and the unpriced stuff @ rama does go far...

man prayers to your girls friend.

yeah I know the guy that owns culture clash. I never go in there because their stuff is over priced. that's odd that he would come at you like that. its a small store and records are big and awkward.

that show was great man. mfnf sounded good despite the fact that they only had one mic. my dude mr leg laid out a real funky set. my set went dope I played last and setup right by the sound booth so I could do my own sound. they also had a wheelchair there so I sat in that while I dropped. the venue was cool. it's on cherry right by quality bar. the other acts were like feedback manipulation death noise bands. so all the beat dudes stood the fuck out.
