fauna- that was a cool tune. but it wasnt really a solid beat.

kristoffer- really enjoyed listening to that. the use of fx was amazing. nice drums too.

frantic- gotta give props. that was sick.

i cant choose, frantic and krist have very different styles. since you said you could vote more than once I'm gonna give a vote for kristoffer and frantic.

that's a good idea, posting links with the poll. i'm gonna steal that. digging through 5 pages of comments to find the 4 entries is a pain. btw if i said to vote more than once it was a mistake, but whatever. =)

well done guys, another battle well fought

Juxt - as always, some brilliant surgically removed drum hits. good groove, but i wasn't feeling the guitar section (bit too shrill?). the bass sounds are on point, gives it a good bottom end.

Kristoffer - i like this one, unique groove and some good musical reworking of the sample. drums are banging, and i really like the stuttery effects work you did (BPM Looper?)

Frantic - this beat is solid. nice stretching of the sample, i like how it sounds. i like how you've sequenced this with breaks for the vocal refrain with no drums.

Fauna - i really enjoy this one. the drum pattern is mad, the vocal snippet is used to good effect and it generally sounds hectic and chaotic, yet still banging. great use of effects too.

all things considered, Fauna gets my vote. all the efforts were sick though and I'm impressed.

still interested in hearing yours too iG9

this is my first battle, so i'm pleased to participate.
i fink all these traxxx have some wicked stuff happening in them:

kristopher: i posted about yr track before, but i like the skipping, snappy beats that crescendo. i like that the track does not sound like the original, and that you emphasized a melodic line.

juxt: i like the way you've used the distortion like sheets of noise - reminds me of reeves gabrels (tin machine guitarist), and i like the soft bass line. i woulda liked a bit more snap in there somewhere tho...maybe just in the mixing?

frantic: i REALLY ((really)) like the way you've worked the grainy-stuff with a subtle kick that has some snap, and you have a snare rush in there occasionally which is really cool. the mix is great. my only negatron is the vox that 'sound stretched', which i recognize is an issue w/ the time-stretch function of the machine more than yr track. otherwise great, dude.

its a really hard choice, cuz the traxxx are aw so different, but i fink i'm gonna pick JUXT cuz it takes the song in non-trad direction and yeah, i like the stabs of noise. i didn't think to do that.

more than anything else tho, i think all the tracks were crazy good interpretations of this otherwise hideous song! thanks for letting me throw down, and thanks to peeps who gave votes / comments.

well my vote went to fauna. all the tracks had something to them but his(?) seemed the most exciting with the best energy throughout.
