everyone came the fuck through.
personal favorites are
jmoki- this beat is so stompy man i just want to hear some mc kill over it.
ellaguru- the drums sucked me in man
dibiase- just a real clean pro sounding cut from start to finish sure banger
creep nasty- raw flip man.
amable- stylistic man

they all were tight and i downloaded all of them and have been adding them to a album on my ipod and bumping hard on loop. like one of you said before me: if i wait a minute my top ten would change and settle.

but as of now having listened to all the beats i feel like the whole of artists that came on this did solid.

this was really fun man i gotta get down on that open chal stuff.

What's up, fam!!?? Much props to everyone who got in on this battle. I had a lot of fun working on the beat and was amazed at everyone's take on the samples. I need to give each track a good listen before I vote. I'll be back soon!

my top ten (in alphabetical order) and why

Adru: yeah your attitude sucked but this is about music, beat is nuts... if i had not heard any of your other music i might accuse you of not using the og samples :)

Computers: best drumwork. your style is unique mang. first computers track iv'e heard in a minute that doesn't include a dissonant piano sample  i knew something was missing

Count Sierackula: 1st place. 8) shit is HAUNTED!!!!!!

Dibiase: fuckin magician, 2nd place

IIIII: you know how people say 'everytime i listen to ___ i hear something different'... that's you. still worshiping the owl on my ealry morning weed-walks :)

Jonwayne: i started laughing when this one came on cuz it was too exaggeratedly dope i couldn't believe it. gimme a verse on this one!!!!

Oaxana: a damn red alert. if i have a heart attack i'm blaming it on you. i got anxiety problems already sheesh... good work

ormo: lo-fi bliss. 3rd place

Project Waxwick: breakdown sounds like a damn live band. lovin this ish!

Wax Inspektor: Dope! definition of a flip. only problem.... you don't give yourself enough props!

lol
Thanks, kel.
It's actually the first time I didn't use library drums in a beat. I think I'll start chopping breaks for drums from now on...
Checking out all tracks again right now, will vote when I'm through with them all...

OK, here are the beats that appealed to me the most, in alphabetical order:

Ellaguru - Loved the drums, but you also took the parts of the synth sample that noone else took. Great job, man.

J. Griz - Something about your beat reminded me of Billy Jean...
I liked that you used unique, minimal samples, too.

Jon Wayne - Real nice beat. I'm glad that someone else also used only the 404 and a tape recorder, man

Oaxaca - Loved that pitch work. Kinda psycho, but I enjoyed listening to it.

But really, everyone did a pretty good job.
This was my first battle, and I gotta say that doing this was pretty fun. When I have time in the future, I think I'll participate in another battle.

Good luck, everyone!

second time around listenin these were some other beats that stood out and gave a good listen .amable ur beat is dope like the drums and the way u used the sample. kel u always have crazy drum programmin switchin up time signatures ,and the efx u used on the samples dope. j moki u came with the dirt ball ish lo fi slap. good job. antee ur beat is dope nice chops and u cant go wrong with the boombap. jay lost ur beat is dope , but when the second half of ur beat kicks i really dig that. i like how u used that part of the sample with the efx it gave ithe beat a nice groove.oaxaca nice drum work and chops of the sample real gutter track. black snow nice attempt for ur first battle. just boost up ur sound record into work program ur usin or cd burner and usin compressors on the 404 helps. make sure when u record u slightly under the red or barely touchin the red with the levels. i had that problem too for years. adru ur beat is dope. nice chops and breakdowns and the drums and hihats sound like they been ran through a sp 1200 extra dusty. has a premo feel to it sorta. i still got more to write on everyone. btw the more i listen to ormo beat man that shit is gutter very very raw. its becomin my fav.
