looks like we are the only ones!

my only gripe is that those rappers want the tracks too quiet when they rap

damn egos....

Not bad, but definitely not the best Dubstep I've ever heard. Some songs I had to skip too.

There were several instances of good instrumental sections. But it is largely over shadowed by the fact that a marketing agency paid a DJ to put a mix together that captured dub step with top 40 hip hop acapellas. It was put together with very little tact. This is clearly a promotional piece, but I don't understand exactly what they're trying to promote.

while this is no doubt, and very obviously, put out as a promotional device i don't really think this is an accurate description. other than a few songs most of the rappers aren't top 40 artists. in fact, 3 of them are from the living legends which one of the biggest underground/indy hip-hop crew in california. right up there with hiero and project blowed. I'm aware that MURS put out an album on a major label, but that doesn't make him a top 40 rapper. It also features Mestizo, who worked with the galapagos4 label doing projects with producers like meaty ogre and maker. not too mention fucking rass kass! i just don't understand how you could be jaded about hearing rass kass actually spitting over a dubstep beat...also all of the rapping was obviously done to these tracks, there is no "mashing up" or mixing of acapellas going on.

I don't understand how this mix was put together without tact, because it's a promotional piece? this thing obviously cost money to put together, you think all of these rappers and dubstep producers just work for free? the sponsors listed on the promotional images surely paid to be associated with the project and that money is what was used to get the talent on board. It seems kinda like you are so against "top 40" that you say snoop dogg and instantly dismissed the entire project. I'm not saying that every song on here is perfect or that it's the greatest thing ever. I just don't think that these types of snap judgements and generalities do anyone service.

Snoop Dogg doesn't really rap much in that particular song, if at all. I think they've basically just used a sample from Snoop's vocals there.

Anyways, regardless, I think it's fair to say that from the perspective of Dubstep music, there are better musicians out there. My main gripe personally had nothing to do with the MCs.

I'd throw in a bunch of YouTube links to prove the point, but I'm sure that's not going to stop people from enjoying the few gems on this mix.

yeah, i'm not saying that this mix is the be all end all of dubstep (which i've been listening to since it was just called grime). i just thought it was a fun listen that got my head noding. that being said this mix does have some of the "big guns" of dupstep in my eyes; rustie, joker, jamie vex'd, starkey, caspa, benga, virus syndicate (MRK1), D1 along side lesser know producers-i know the argument could be made that some of these producers are on the fringe of dupstep these days(funky, wonky etc), but they are all inescapably tied to the "scene"-. i dunno, maybe i'm just biased cause i'm from the west coast and i was geeked on hearing all of these rappers that i grew up on spitting over some dubstep beats.

again, i'm not saying that anyone has to like this mix, i just wanted it to be at least viewed objectionably. Someone must have put a shit load of time and effort into organizing this and putting it out and if nothing else i respect that.

Grime and dubstep are two separtate things, although grimes influence can be heard in dub, and the two cross over frequently...

I never been that big a fan of plastician, i really didnt like intensive snare, especially with skepta chatting shit through it.....

Im really into the more leftfield shit tbh like zomby, ikonika, kode 9 etc..

I also really like burial but he aint dubstep
