hey.... i wonder if they're targetting the sx to djs rather than producers or beatmakers. they put the djfx looper right there and is the 32gb card range for uploading entire songs to pads? the up in sound quality could actually let you upload 120 songs onto the sp and then effect it continuously. this could be dope...

Okay, I've been usin SP's since I was hella young trying to do what I do with the SP 202 back in the days. But seriously, why wont they give us a dedicated "Pitch" shift . It doesn't have to be complicated, we can tune by hand, ofcourse it may alter the way we save. But hell I'd even take it if we had to pull the track back up, and set the tempos and pitches back to the way they where. Just give us real Pitch!! I would have copped this new one instantly if I could only get pitch along with it. Pattern copy is cool, and cuts out a few steps, but as stated they flying lo process aint hard. Just give us an OS update with pitch or a machine with pitch, and I promise roland will make tons.

the sp-505 pitch function is different from 'ol school pitch.
by the way i would like to try the 202.

because the effects processor was probably good at that but not at the other effects

they probably gave up pitch in order to get a decent delay filter phaser etc to fit all in there

i think yr right ^^, but the 202 had two things it did well: pitch and one of the filters. they're both better than the pitch or filter on the other sp- boxes.

but yeah, the other filter and the stuff on the 202 were pretty rough.

i actually quite like the way chromatic pitch shift sounds on the 555....much more psychedelic artifacts than you get with weird shifting and grain settings in ableton

totally, totally. i mean, there are a million workarounds. i just find it frustrating that it's not something included in the box, you know?

but sure. we've all got ways to get the pitch we need, it just requires some (LITERALLY) outside the box thinking.

last night i was using my thumb on the turntable to get something's pitch JUST right. lol
