Digital 8-track

Damn i was thinking bout getting a digital 8-track for my 404.. So my question is.. Can i record for example drum pattern to track 1 samples to track 2 bass to track 3 and so on and then mix em separately and finally record the final mixdown to my daw? I was looking at Tascams but i dunno. Anyone heeeelp!

you could do what you are saying AFAIK (im a sp newbie) cos its accepts midi clock, so you could drive from a little 8 track... but TBH if your gonna go to the DAW eventually maybe you should just sync it to a PC...
