i added (alot) to a song i made that at its peak sounded weak. so i made it epic.
Redemption Peak:

be careful, theres a big dynamic range on purpose, so expect it to get louder

heres the lame original for comparison

I have to say I really like some of the material you're producing Hurl.

Were the synth lines and effects done with vsts on this? The slight detuning adds some uncertainty to the melody which is nice.

reminds me a bit of indonesian gamelan + the cymbals etc.. at least the beginning
kind of clangorous in a beautiful way

hooray for dynamic range :) - one thing though, maybe when things drop into being big, it needs more build up/lead-in - maybe some sort of big crash when it drops into louder part?

I get what you're trying to do with it, and it mostly works, I think it's just the kickdrum that is a little out of place.

thanks man! it was an FM synthesizer so the effects were mostly the synth itself

at the beginning or the build? at the beginning i was going for a poly rhythm feel but i can see how it needs work
i quite like having 4 on the floor for the build tho
like that sigur ros song where they use distortion for the first time :)

oh no the beginning is great,

all my criticisms/ideas are about the point when the track suddenly changes to being much louder/much heavier - the kick drum im referring to is the one that come in then.
