Good value for a second-hand SP?

Post by solarion »

I'm looking to buy an SP second-hand (probably a 404, maybe a 555 if I find one cheap) and so I'm wondering what's a good price to find one at? The cheapest I've found yet (reputably) is $330 US including the shipping to Australia. Is that an alright price?

I apologise, that was inaccurate. It was actually the lowest price I could find for a new one; I thought it was second hand.

What did you buy instead of the sp-404 then 5h0k0?

Cool, so you're now using an MC-909 and MC-505 only? MV + MC-808 is a pretty neat combo, I imagine the MC-909 would be awesome as well.

Well I bought the SP-404 because I was´nt happy with the MC-505 Kickbass. Since I have the MC-909 plus that SRX-08 card....well you can hear it in my tracks on my MySpace...hard to discribe...hearing is believing!!

That´s why I really did´nt need the SP-404 anymore...coulda kept it but hey 300€ is 300€ ...spent it on the SRX08 card.

Since a few months now I´m sorta missing out on a flexible sample like the 404 (battery powered and easy to use)
But then again since I´m doing both live and studio work, I´m not really sure what I want/need....the SP-606 is a great live using sampler, the SV-??? for studio working....mostly doing studio work...once a month I do my thingamajig in the clubs or like tomorrow (Saturday) a nice openair ...guess it´ll end up with.....both
