Hey gang,
I've been lurking here for a while, and i gotta say you all are on point with some SP knowledge. I've been messing around with my 404 for about a year now, making some songs and beats and all of that, and I feel like i've been starting to be able to make it sing a little bit recently. However, I don't know how many people here are on the animal collective tip, but i feel like Panda Bear does some amazing stuff with his samplers. I've started digging into some of the things he does, but the way he makes some of his stuff feel just eludes me. Just as a quick example, on carrots he's got this sweet groove going-
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW9Dhism ... re=related ) and i imagine he's got the piano and wrenches on one sampler, and then the high hats on the other. Just the way he has is swinging has got me stumped. I feel like he might have resampled em with some delay, but to my ear it sounds like 16ths or dotted 16ths/8ths, but i can't quite match it. Another example is in bros, when the high hats kick in around 3:20
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwwlCSHo50o ) Anyways, if anyone has any ideas how he's pulling it off, that would be super sweet, if you haven't heard it before, you might like it.
thanks guys
