Ok....recording, quantizing a pattern is fine, for example....using one hit sampled shots of a bass drum, snare etc records and looping it to four assigned measures..1.1...1.2....etc to 4.4...then back to the beginning (1.1) easy....loops over just fine....
So, why the fuck when i try to record a looped sampled (a four beat loop) over the same four beat measure duration, then why does it not keep looping once it has been recorded. I've tried different quantization settings, different measure lengths but still not getting the right result....the recording just cuts off after the four assigned measure and plays nothing for another four measures then the recorded loop comes back on and does the same over and over.
I get the feeling i'm overlooking something really obvious here...can someone shed some light on this because it's making my balls itch with frustration! :?

When the sample bank has 'loop' enabled the sample is started on the first press and stopped on the second press. So if the loop is triggered on 1.1 then it will keep looping until it comes back to 1.1 and then it will be triggered to stop until 1.1 comes again ... and so on.

Disable 'loop' on the sample.

i dunno if it works on the 404, but on the 555 you can have gate mode and loop on and press the "hold" button and it will make up for that glitch
