Can anyone help me identify this tune please??

Post by mattbass »

OK i need to pick the inner realms and subconciousness of your minds if anyone can help pleeeaasssseeeee!!!? It's doing my friggin nut in!
I heard a cool tune on some music channel ages ago which i really like but for the life in me i cannot think of the artist or title. I'm hoping that by describing it on here someone may have seen it at some point and be able to shed some light on it....
i'm certain it's an instrumental version of a popular 70s early 80s funk/pop track which originally had vocals, from memory it's near to the original edit.....but it has a really miminal 2 note repetative bassline and a steady 4/4 beat? the video to it has snippets showing various vintage cartoons in time with the music???

that is all i can give you i'm afraid...it's a long shot and could be pretty much anything but it's worth a try??

Thanks

mattbass, try to sing it (or play it), record it and then upload it at box.net or whatever, maybe this could help us/you.

Finally found out by chance what tune it is. If anyone actually gives a flying fuck then the tune is by a post punk/new wave band from NY called Liquid Liquid - Cavern. Grandmaster Flash sampled the bass line too the robbing bastard! :D

Here's a link to the tune, you may have to copy/paste to browser. Could'nt find the video I originally had seen tho but anyway......

Yeah it's pretty cool when you finally find something out that's been doing yer head in big time.
I'm guessing you mean Liquid Liquid?....i'm really into post punk stuff like this, you wanna check out Public Image Ltd especially the "Flowers of Romance" album. It's basically just percussion and weird shit noises in the background.
