Variphrase technology in the 505?
It's been a while since I played my friends 505, but I remember pitched samples seemed to behave like on the V-Synth, that is they seemed to be stretched to play at the same length, but at different pitches. Is this the case?

sorry for my english, but i think that i don't understand well...what is the the v-synth? is in the sp-606?

i never use one v-synth.
but i can tell you that effectively the samples pitched on the 505 sound as you described before. that depends on some algortyhmics studied for this machine. you have 3 types of pitches:hi, lo and music. it all depends on what type of sound you're searchin'. generally speaking the "music" type is ok for every situation. but sometimes you can obtain a bit different sort of sounds with the other 2 parameters.
in every case the length of the sample rests the same.

Hi!I found a 505 for 150E and maybe i would buy it ,so I would like to ask how much time does the 505 take to pitch scale a 10sec sample to the pads....
can anyone upload a drum loop to check the pitch quality?I would(and many others) appreciate this...!
I'm sure that it's way better than 606 pitch shifter!

sorry but i haven't time to do that but check some battles i made with the 505 (try from #44 to the rest...), maybe it could help.
anyway the pitch quality it dipends on the 3 parameters you will use:music-low-high... it dipends on the sample you will use...
i assure you, it's better than 606 pitch shifter (one reason that move me to sold it)...
