404 Tap Tempo Footswitch

Post by braincobra »

Hiya,

I know there's a bunch of topics on footswitches for the 404, but I can't find any info on whether any of them can be used as an external tap tempo device.

I'd like to be able to use the 404 with a live band, but keep the tempo with my foot rather than my hand. Anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks a bunch!

Train your toes!? :?

Just look for a device with midi sync out.
A RC50 looper could do it for you. There you can tab in the tempo and the midi sync feature will control the tempo of the sp. A simple midi pedal like the behringer can't do it... cause the 404 only receives start/stop signals (for samples NOT pattern).
I think every of those big guitar effect boxes also got midi sync / clock.

Rock'n'Roll! 8) ...and think about the toe work...

also check out the ploytec 34one ... it's a real simple tap tempo switch ... kind of like a boss fs-5u with a midi cable...

guess it's sold out right now, but you might be able to find one on ebay or something... i was planning on buying one for my keyboard rig, but i ended up getting a kp3 and using its tap tempo and midi out

Cool, thanks!

yeah I can't find the 34one for sale anywhere, and the midisolutions one seems kinda expensive for what it does. Seems like something I could potentially build. Might give it a shot.
