hey, can anybody recommend a simple midi program for downloading to my mac? i've got an old korg module i want to control.

or just a virtual-keyboard type thing?

and i find the "simple" programs are actually way too complex to do simple things.

oops sorry, yeah i need a sequencer, don't want the program to have its own patches or anything. maybe a metronome though. basically i just need enough to assign 8 tracks/channels to correspond w/ this

the only feature i really could use is quantizing, but editing individual velocities on notes would be nice. basically i need something like an early version of cakewalk. oh and i already have a controller and midi cord, and midi in/out-usb cable.

am i trippin or did you say that you have an mpc? if so why not just use that?

here are two really dope sequencers for mac. they might be more than you are looking for(in terms of complexity and price), but numerology in particular is supposed to be stupid powerful and flexible

renoise is supposed to be great too and I was just reading that it has upto 536ppq resolution which would allow crazy swing and accuracy(all the mpcs eccept for the 4000/5000 are max 96ppq even with quantize turned off)

5 12 looks great...i havent heard of that before


i would steer clear from renoise unless you are familiar with trackers, otherwise it will be a pain in the arse to learn

yeah, trackers are an acquired taste for sure, but they can be pretty dope.

yeah, numerology looks nuts you should check out the videos when you get a chance. i really want to give it a go sequencing some of my hardware.

you're right man. i use my 404 so much i forget about the mpc (used to be the other way around).

but i will check out the programs nonetheless, thanks...
