yeah, it's strange the one that doesn't seem inflated on the used market is the 505(my 1st sampler years ago...). must be because neither madlib nor animal collective have copped to using one. when it's just a way better version of the 303, i mean it's a little bigger and uglier, but more or less same sound character with a 4-track sequencer beat slicer and better pitching functions.

i think a few months after the 555 came out roland had a choice

1.lower the price of 404 keep the 555 the same

2.keep the price of 404 raise the 555

and of course they did the predictable business decision

and now people just completely overlook the 555 like its some bastard cousin who married a bitch


on another note why are boss and roland two companies? boss used to be like guitar pedals and that kind of thing

yeah, 555 is over priced for sure. they look dope though, i've certainly entertained the idea of trying to trade my 404/505 combo for one...that looping function would be right up my alley, for the longest time the only beats i made that i was happy with used my old RC-20 loopstation pedal. i'm not the biggest fan of playing along to a click track...

yeah, i was just thinking the other night about shaving/sanding down the sides and adding some fresh poplar side panels. then either painting it or styleflipping it. now if i could just figure out something to do with the stupid glowing eye bubble thing....
