Whoa!?!? Major confusion here. Please clarify what you're talking about in specific detail.

Are you saying that if you have a sequence playing back on the 606 and you connect the MIDI out to a keyboard that it won't send the MIDI notes for the sequence.

Does the 606 only send notes to MIDI out when the pads are pressed?

Yes, when I bought my synth I was hoping I could record a sequence of midi ( a midi track like an mpc) in the 606 and have it send it out via midi to my synth to play. NO GO.

I think we got this right then.

On the SP-606:

Pressing the pads will send midi out data.

Playback of a sequence will not send midi out data.

555 sends midi data with patterns, its rather annoying when im recording synths through usb

all the notes from the patterns play through the synth

I think you're talking about the same thing. If you have a sequence already on the sampler ( a sequence of samples) and it's playing those pads ( sequence ) when you play it back, it will send out the notes of those pads to the synth via midi. We're saying that you can't have like a dedicated midi track to record midi data, just the pad data.

Yeah it sucks. If it were true as we wish, they would be more popular than the mpc prob for the price. And I checked your myspace, good stuff.

Gyeah- none of the SPs can sequence other gear "MPC style"
Best bet is to cop an Alesis MMT8 or Roland MC500 and sequencing the SP along with gear of choice-

Or just jam to multitrack, then sample those bpm specific parts into the SP.

OR just get an MPC as your main chick.

I wonder if The Beathang will be able to sequence "MPC style"

That's not true, you can use the sequencer for external sounds as well, but it won't save midi files in the way you would like to use them. That's something slightly different.

In fact, using [Int] + [Ext] you can even use both internal AND external sounds using the SP-606 sequencer. :)

Of course we can't really expect a 4-track sequencer to be able to do what you want though, it would barely give one enough room to do such a thing.
