I just got an Sp-404 yesterday. It's my first sampler, and it seems to be a beast of a machine. I still have to figure a few things out and buy a compact flash card, but I think it's coming along quite well.

Thanks for the welcome. Uh, I've made some sort of trip-hoppy beats for a while, but I also have been playing guitar for a number of years. I'll probably use it for a number of things though. I think I'm going to try incorporating it into my band too. I've seen Animal Collective use a 404 to make some cool sounds, so I was hoping I could do something possibly similar.
