Feelin' Blue

Post by Les Braun »

I only have a 32 MB CF card. Banks C-F are filled with drums, the rest just chopped samples and loops and shit. Some of the patterns are glitchy because the card is always full.
I also use my 404 to record my recorded beats from my 4-track and export them to a computer, so I can pretty much only record one of my tracks at a time and in MONO, and mostly I have to erase everything else on my card beforehand.
And on top of that, My 4-track recorder didn't come with an adapter, and it came from the US, so I can't find any working adapters around here. Luckily it works with the 404's adapter, but I barely have any working batteries and I'm broke, and I owe someone cash for skateboard wheels.
-.- This is hell.
Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

The good thing though is that it's been effecting my beats.. It's actually pretty cool, and you'll find out soon enough how they are, but I still hope I can find a job for summer vacation.

That doesn't sound too bad.

You're young, you've got your health, a roof over your head, food, a computer, etc. You might owe money on your skateboard wheels, but that's not bad compared to having real debt for a car, shelter, hospital bills, etc. And you have musical equipment, recording equipment, etc. Not bad!

I can't find any. And I'm broke. But is there any danger that my 404 will blow up if i use the wrong adapter?

look again.

9VDC power supply is pretty much as common as it gets.

Make sure it is the right voltage, and the number of amps/milliamps (A/mA) OUTPUT by the power supply is at least as much as what it says on the one you have already. (more amps is better than less)

It will only break if you use the wrong voltage, but if you dont get enough amps/milliamps, it might not have enough power to work.

yes i think so.
normally 9vdc is not expensive and not hard to find...
is important , as cartesia says, to look the technical specifictions (ma...it could be 300ma,500ma,1000ma, it is marked down the recorder) that your recorder needs. but i think that the guys wich work in an electronic shop know all that. go with your recorder in that shops and show your problem, i think is not a bad bad problem, don't give up!
plus i like your beats recorded in this s**t recoder! :)
...and you know what? thanks to your sounds i bought 2 cassette (1 track!) recorders and i re-recorder some beats in my old beloved yamaha mt120 4 tracks(only 3 imputs working :( ...)

Do you have a card reader on your COMPUTERS? Just copy the whole card to your pc/mac and insert it back to the 404. Now you can erase everything & fill it with new stuff. Later you can copy them back - just make a backup of the new stuff first :) The problem with this is that combining samples from your card setup1 and card setup2 is not that simple, but can be done with export/import ofcoz. But still.... 32MB??

I think I tried that before, but when I put everything back on the card, all of my chopped samples I had on banks A and C were gone :O

Thanks for helping out, guys. I think the main problem is just that I need a job for summer break.

steal some batteries from your 404

but then you might get caught and get chased by the cops, then you might panic and run away, then one of the cops might chase you and fall and shoot himself, then you have to go to jail for a long time, then you'll be in jail like damn, why was I complaining about some petty bullshit on an internet forum

think about it
