Zoom ST-224 Sampltrak

Post by ColeRockLee »

I found one of these pretty cheap (under $100US). Anyone had an experience with it? I'll be getting a 404 soon so would this thing be totally obsolete once I have a 404?

i like this site for reviews, but you have to be careful cause they don't generally seem too into grimy beat production. they didn't like the 404... anyway...

the sampletrak is ill ! I used my boys for a while If you can get it for under $100 jump on it for sure. Its got a dope sound and its got a better time stretch than the 404. It also can change the pitch of samples and even has a scale feature (similar to 16 levels on the MPC)

Frantic. Do you know if this thing will use 64mb smartmedia. I've it only takes 16mb cards but else I've read it can go up to the 64mb ones. I've found both available online but the 64mb looks like a much better option. Strangely enough the 64mb cards are cheaper and much easier to get ahold of too. Thanks man.

I have a sampletrak and unfortunately, you can't use more than 16 mb sm cards. :(
But like Frantic said,it's a very good purchase and this cutie will fit in right with the 404.

yeah bro,you should if it's under 100$.One interesting feature is the resampling function, say you use 8 mono voices of polyphony, with that function, you can resample that sequence in stereo and that will give you 2 voices and delete the old sequence.Trust me,you'll have fun with this!!

ya, this machine lets you sample ne thing that happens in the machine. I think you can even resample an eternal source while resampling your sequence.

I'm tapped after buying the 404, so I won't be getting this one after all. I figured I could at least post it so if any of you guys wants it you can grab it.
