Calling Timfromtexas or any other artists!

Post by Beanz711 »

What's up guys? I have some music oriented tattoos in mind, but unfortunately, I am unable to even draw stick figures that well. I was basically wondering if someone will help me out here, or even bless me with some new ideas.

My initials are SB and I am going to put one on each arm. I have already drawn up an idea for the B (with the help of many objects that I was able to trace...Will try to upload what I came up with), and am now working on the S. Here is what is in my head, feel free to do what you want with it:

A symmetrical S when looked at from right side up or upside down, looks the same width and distance to middle.
Inside the top and bottom curves will be a record (one per curve)
At the beginning of the S and the end (or beginning if looked at upside down) will be a tone-arm than comes down onto the each record.
The S will be bubbled or see-through or blocked or something like that
Inside the bubbled S will be a staff with notes on it that fade out when it hits the first curve (on the top and bottom), or just going all the way down.
If they fade, the top will be the treble clef and the bottom will be the bass

Yea... Something like that. I hope you guys see where I am going with this. Like I said feel free to add your own art to it of you would like. I am a big fan of boomboxes, mics, headphones, and anything else relating to music. Or you guys can just laugh at this post and tell me it will look good.

Thanks fam.

I like the idea of the B with the speakers. Here is my B idea.

I'd ask a tattoo maker to design one music related tattoo for you instead man. There's some really talented guys out there that can draw you a stylized dude with a ghettoblaster on his shoulder, things like that.

When I'm blatantly honest, I don't think a cassette will ever look truly awesome like this. ( Although a stylized 3D one might look sick, I don't know about this current design man, sorry. )

nah like i said, i cant draw. I would like it all stylized and sh*t. That's why i figured I would post and see what/if anyone could come up with something. That 2d image is way to plain. It was just something to get the idea down.

yo son

you have a ton of ideas in your head and im having a hard time wrapping my brain around what youre getting at... i always warn people about flow and trying to squeeze too many ideas into one tattoo/painting/art piece... your idea for the b is neat but its kinda what i was talking about.. a lot of ideas in one.. tape, the B, records, tonearms, writing... its gonna lose something somewhere along the line... if you like the tape and want the initials take a casset (spelling?) and pull the tape out and have your initials be in the stretched out wadded up tape.. get the tape to look more detailed and black and white.. boom dope tattoo... stuff like thats been done before for graphics but ive never seen a tattoo done that way... or maybe just get a detailed tape done and insidead of mixtape 2 written on it have your name or last name.. the same could go for a record.. take a label of a record you really like and flip it to where it says your name or initials..

i saw a dope tattoo once of a guy with a pretty detailed tone arm actual size on the inside of his forearm.. i also saw a guy who played stand up bass in a rockabilly band who had that thing some records have that you punch out to use the circle thing thats bigger than the post on a record player.. i told him i liked it and he said do you know what it is? and i scoffed and told him and he was surprised... said no one ever knows.. this thing basically http://www.outlookskates.com/StereoStickerRound.gif

where are you planning on getting this tattoo also? that can come into play bigtime.. the smaller you go the more detail you lose..

ramble ramble i hope i didnt offend anyone i just get on a role and write

Thanks Tim for replying. I am not an artist and I know I put way too many Ideas together. But that is just so I don't forget some that I like. I would just like the B with the vinyl inside. But 3d or some crazy original stuff. the cassette is completely overkill, I know that. But as I said, if you are interested and have time I would love to see what you would come up with. anything musical really. My initial thing was my initials, one on each forearm done with some musical twist. The 404 would be a dope tattoo, just dont know where I would put it or what crazy design can go with it. I just wanted an artist to see some of the things I like and use their creativity to draw something dope. I have some friends that drew some stuff for me, and figured if any artists on here wanted to give it a try, do it up. Thanks.
