does anybody's A&B banks on the 404 stuff get deleted before?

Are you saying that the memory for those banks aren't holding the samples like they should and accidentally deletes them for no apparent reason? Could be that the internal memory banks on your 404 are either damaged for defective. You ought to contact Roland and ask them about this.
