using both audio outs ?

i think i remember it doesnt work, but i just want it confirmed.

Im trying to record to a VCR i got today, but cant monitor unless my headphones are in the 404. and the line outs are going to the VCR . so is it cutting of the line out signal when the headphones are plugged in.

ps , this VCR is super duper hifi mega , so I want to get it working , because I have no bounce capabilities right now, just lofi cassete and hifi computer and I dont really like either.

any help will be apreciated , thanks

im pretty sure it will output sound through both at the same time
