yo, im just wondering if there is a noticable diference between high speed tape recording and standard speed , because on my old tascam 414 I was totally freakin amazed at the quality of the high speed dbx recording, i never heard cassete tapes sound that dope before, and when i try and record into my old ghetto blaster I lose all the fidelity of my beats plus it adds a super thick layer of hiss, not just hiss but thick hum to, so I guess my question , on 4 tracks that record at standard speed, does it have that awesome tascam 414 quality. just wondering maybe someone here has a porta 02 or something similar that uses standard speed.
later.

Re: high speed dbx vs standard speed
I think standard speed tape decks have much more noise. Either that or the last one that I had with standard speed had a snake stuck within it.
I love DBX, but it sucks that you can only play cassettes with that speed on em.
