I've got one of them, too :)
I have the Anti-Skate at 0, but just have the tonearm so that it's balanced and doesn't fall to one side, with the needle.
What needle do you have? And to scratch you'll also need a mixer with at least a decent crossfader.

not sure what the setting is for the 1200,

with mine (cheap shitty stanton), you balance it so that it will sit floating perfectly (without the needle/cartridge in)

then you put the needle/cartridge back on, and add about 3 to the weight.

But the 1200 probly requires less weight cos it has a much more advanced arm system

The easiest way to tell if you have too much weight, is to put the needle down on a flat bit of vinyl in the middle of a record (not in a groove) and rub it back and forwards about 20 times - if the weight is too much you'll see a bunch of scratch marks in the vinyl.
