just wondering if anyone knows how many variations possible is there of kick and snare in a 4 bar loop. cause i made a hell of a lot of beats and dont think i even scratched the surface. yess all quantum beep buzzed into the matrix with a google chip implanted in my skull to telepahicly teleport beats to the sp-forums global ninja headquaters.

but for real is there some sort of equation with pi or somehting to find out ?

- x being the number of aliases you have
- y being your current shoe size

I've thought about this question too, but seriously, I don't know an answer. You just gotta think out of the typical 'kick kick snare'.

i usually just quanitize basic kick kick snare , but i dont think there is 2 alike,

if you take mutes and triplets into account.

everytime i sit down, i can come up with a new variation.

thats the operation 16! or 16 x 15 x 14 x 13 etc.

but really its probably 128 x 127 x 126 x 125
probably not the right equation but then again i never took statistics

but for patterns that sound good, its probably much much lower.

think of things like them math rock bands and the shyt they pull off, wtf! plus humans can mostly only capture a 1,2 or 2,1 beat b4 they write it off as driving music or dancing music...
