sp 303 worship

i tried learning ableton and using it with an mpd 24. im sure for those that know how to freak it do it very well. but every time i tried learning something on it, i just felt frustrated cus the sp was sitting beside my laptop and i thought to myself why f*ck with this you can do all that shit on that small box.

i basically returned that shit LOL, nothing feels as comfortable as a sp 303(for me). nice pads(like pressing/poking soft thighs), clean/dirty sound, pretty solid sequencer, need i say more about the efx, and resampling is one of the greatest functions(as long as you bounce the sample back and forth between sp -> tape deck or sp ->daw) to me its like a pet/robot/machine you can tell it what to do as long as you program it.

anybody kiss their 303??

also big ups to everyone on the positive tip on the site. everyone seems helpful and patient to each other. great community growing here lets keep it up. i used to cruise the @#$-forums.com not the greatest environment for new comers.

i own an sp-303,404,505 and owned a 606. i can tell you one thing: the 303 got THE sound. it's unique. and have you tried the compressor fx? yes, i suppose, but let me tell you that this fx is the best in the 303 machine compared to the other sp.

I actually ditched my mpc 2000xl for a macbook with ableton reason and an mpd 24. I really love it and am fast and can make any sound I can think of. However I started to miss having a hardware box. Got a 303 and couldn't be happier. I still use ableton to track and sequence, but everything goes through the sp and drums are often banged out on the sp while looping in ableton. Pretty sweet little companion to my computer set up.
