is it possible to layer record during pattern playback??

just got a 404 -- is it possible to layer record from a line in during pattern playback? say for creating vocal harmonies? like a looper function where each cycle is bounced into a single sample pad? is it even possible to record during pattern playback??! i'm panicking a little bit -- i bought a 404 thinking it would have basic looping functions.

404 is not a looper.
you can loop a sample, but nothing in realtime.

what you wanted was the 555. it will do the trick for looping premade patterns. but a 404 is great as well, just take it somewhere with batteries and rock out. if i wanted to make beats out side id need extension cords ha
