Sample breakages

Post by GARF13LD »

Hi peeps, I have found a few loops that ive cut, problem is when i take the bpm down the instruments tend to break up a little, is there any tips you guys can give me to maybe mask this problem?

I threw a little reverb on it to make it sound a little more grimey but just wanted to see if any experienced heads had anything to offer.

Thanks for any help

im not the expert but im sure most on the board would agree that for best results you should do time-stretching somewhere else before the sp 404 -- hopefully that aspect fits into your workflow

i do all my pitch shifting on the table before i sample. works like a charm for me. alternatively i jus work it in the mpc after i got the sound i want from the sp.

the thought of having to use a computer for this would fck my workflow completly. laptop= storage.

I'd highly recommend to take a few mins to learn live. . if only to load up an audio clip and warp it ... its really amazing.. something that hardware aint got nothin on.

Sure it doesnt hve the 'soul' of working on hardware.. but warping audio is a beautiful thing.

i've seen live run, pretty heavy software but................ i jus really can't be fooooked with it, i got cubase which only gets used for vocals. i also sit infront
of a computer all day and it's the last thing i wanna do at home. but all is good, aslong as you get the sound your after.

my set up runs tt>sp>mpc>8track&lexicon rack
