Suggested software to use with 404?

Right now I have an SP-404 and want to get some software to go along with it. Trying not to break the bank on anything super-expensive. I'm leaning towards Ableton Live, but i'm interested to hear what you all think, especially if there is a DAW you use with a 404 that play well together.
