definitely a cool beat. the only thing id change is just keep the drums going underneath no need to drop it so often.
haha i let loose a monster with my newly found sidechain obsessions now people will just think of sidechaining whenever they think of me

If u think your beats are good enough for you...then u are ready. Never mind other people opinions (okey feedback is good thing, but follow your own heart) and its always cool that people like your stuff (if someday got some $ from beats=bonus), but first u have to really like whut you do, your own music. And its cool to read/learn new , tips and stuff. But, have u noticed that many people say.."hey i read how to do this and that..." "now i can call myself dubstep man"...dont follow that, follow your own heart. Thats my advice. Haha, yeah..i go deep with this stuff, but i think lot of people dont follow their heart...too much follow trends and opinions. 1+1=start makin that ep son!

Peace.

hmm i wonder who kr is callingg out.....find one quote where someone said "i am a dubstep dude now". afterall couldnt you spin it around for everyone here who makes hiphop? if you sit down and start feeling hiphop then you are following your heart. beats shouldnt be the same shit everytime and in order to keep it fresh you need to learn different techniques, how to play the keyboard, how to make good synth sounds, how to effectively grab the listeners attention and hold on to it. just look at prefuse 73 he took his guitar skills, pad skills and sampling skills and mixed them up in the last record.

every song is a practice session first because if it were guitar you wouldnt be recording, you just happen to have a copy of it. thats why madlib has so many songs because he keeps trying over and over and over and the practice shows in his beats because hes selective about the ones we hear.
after you get some different techniques that you are comfortable with then thats when you can put them all in a stew and come up with something new. get your "by any means" on.
by the looks of it though, you are well on your way. the keyboard parts i hear from you are always fresh and you got a damn good ear for what you want to hear.
do whatever the fuck you want. but if it were me, i wouldnt call it an ep, since thats kind of a label decision
