Ableton, Drum Racks, and padKontrol
does anyone know how to stop the samples from gating in the drum racks on ableton. I've been trying to figure this out for awhile and even researched on google and I'm probably putting the wrong keywords but I hope you guys can help. Thanks

attack decay sustain release
with release set to zero you are on "gate mode"
attack is how long it takes to hear the sound, you can go from a harsh "T" sound to a "wah" sound
decay is how long it takes to reach the level of volume during sustain
sustain is how loud the sample is while playing it
release is how long it takes the sample to end after sustaining

Another way to do is to set the sustain & release to zero.
Put a midi effect (note length) in before the drum rack. Set the note length high enough to play your longest sample,
then use the decay knob instead of release..
The difference is with the release one, if you hold down the pad it will keep playing, with the decay one, it will always play the same length of sample no matter how long you hold down the pad.
Good if youre a crap pad player like me
