here's a beat i made yesterday. the samples are from a Bollywood song. i did some work with the 404 but then imported it into Reason to add the bassline and some compression

http://www.zshare.net/audio/2886962fae377d/

i'd appreciate any comments or suggestions. i don't usually make hip-hop beats (i'm more focused on electronic and ambient styles), but the quality of tracks i've heard here has been amazing. thus, i'm hoping you guys can give me some advice

thanks guys, glad you dig it

i think i've got to focus more on sequencing transitions (ie between verse and chorus) and also switch the drum patterns up at appropriate places (learn the best places to mute the drums/sample too)

but if it gets people's heads nodding, i must be on the right track :)

Really nice laid back beat, well done Drewzle I was tapping my foot all the through. Only thing I could think of was maybe some more Ethnic/Indian vocal phrases in there or you could go totally "World Music" and stick in some nice sexy female voice(s) speaking in Chinese or Italian!

that's a good idea man, i might go back and add that in

I really love it as it's so laidback and relaxing.Man don't beat yourself trying to make every beat perfect, just keep it simple and the more experienced you become your tracks will be a bit more complex.

 what a random first post...in such a random old thread?!
thanks for your interest though man, just for you i have re-upped the beat:
http://www.limelinx.com/files/5e3e88b4f ... 036d1baaf9

seriously though, this is some OLD shit....the 'bassline' here makes me very  was going for a 'less is more' approach, needs to be way more funky though

peace
