drewzle - Bring Your Folks

this tune began as a bassline and various layers of instrumentation i'd played into my QY-70. from there i imported the MIDI files i'd made into Reason and developed the track. i was aiming for a blunted head-nodder, with a few tempo shifts and build-ups/filter-tweaks to keep the dynamics interesting

all instruments/drums were played/programmed myself; the only samples used were some chopped drums and the Clark Gable speech at the beginning

Euclid - the padKontrol got a big workout on this one

all feedback welcome, what do you think?

I really like the bass, its not over the top, but perfectly layered with everything else....I can feel a dub influence, which is a good thing...I also like how its doesnt have a boring structure and kinda developes as it goes along, makes it feel like the track is traveling....

all in all good shit!!

Good stuff. Nice thick coat of Drewzle brand polish. Really diggin the drums, the kit, the patterns, everything about em. Good ole trip-hop. I wouldn't change a thing.

are you using the pK much? i find it useful not just as a nicer interface for the SP, but also to trigger synths. you could control your microKorg with it, using the Roll function to get nice slurs out of a synth patch. there's probably also a few MIDI CCs that you can use the pK's knobs to access which aren't available from the microKorg's interface.

I haven't used it with my MK yet since I use the power adapter from that to power my PK. I mainly use it to do my drums on the 303.
