The SP's are fuckin' with me. Take a nap... wake up... and now there are two! WTF? Sleepwalking on craigslist. Troubles.

well.. I guess everythings been said..heh. Otherwise i'd jump in on the "DONT DO IT !" thing :) but I hear you... I feel the EXACT same way.. I almost quit myself but then I realized im just thinking in the now. at some point im going to crave it again...hell..the urge comes and goes as it is now I jsut dont have time to act on it.. I have a beat ive been crafting for about a month and a half now..lol. Just dont pressure yourself. Let it come natural and do it when you feel like it. If you dont feel like making a beat for the next 10 years then dont. But keep your gear because the time will come.

Yeah man, that's the right thing to do. But personally I think you've maybe outgrown your SP303 and other gear? Perhaps it's not so much the music that's not satisfactory anymore, but more so the challenge of working with the exact same limitations and features has become too much of a routine thing now?

Perhaps it would do good to look into a next level solution, say a more advanced sampler or a combo with some more software?

There's a million ways to continue and stopping music altogether is of course one of them still, but I definitely hope you will take a break and continue. You've got loads of potential man, most of your beats sound very pro, esp. coming from a SP-303. You've made some sick beats.

I don't know, perhaps you've experienced producer / writer's block before and know that this is different, but I've had a slight issue of not being very productive lately myself. It makes no sense to force myself into making music, it just doesn't work that way, but a small holiday worked wonders for me.
