Should I trust eBay?

Post by TheNihilisticIdiot »

I've never ordered anything from eBay but I would really like to buy a 505 since I have the cash now. So have you guys had any success with ebay?

I've bought lots of stuff off eBay. Your best bet is to go with a seller that's an actual business. Lot's of pawnshops on there selling gear.

^For sure. The only time I'm hesitant is when someone only has a couple transactions. Even then, most cats that are into music more than they are into selling stuff on ebay would be in that boat. I think ebay has some kind of insurance policy where they will step in and refund shit if someone pulls a scam on you. Might want to check into that tho.

One major plus to buying from the power sellers is that they know how to properly package and ship gear. That's huge... cause it doesn't matter how "mint" or "cherry" a piece of gear is if the person who ships it to you doesn't pack it right.

i try to only order stuff from my own country (to avoid cross border delays and duties). i only deal w/ dudes with REALLY high approval ratings.

i've had good and bad experiences. but i've had both on local buys as well.

but ebay can be a good thing, for sure.

and as others on here will attest, i'm a big fan of the sp505. so do it but be careful.

I got ass fucked once on ebay... "Bought" a serato on my b-day for 45o€... paid, waited for nothing and finally just got back 175€ from ebay... Since that day I'm that type of sucker making a little money this way... I don't care... 8) ...well let's say nobody beside ebay or the shipping companies / insurances gets hurt ...so I guess it's okay...

i bought my sp-505 from ebay. works perfectly. i bought my yamaha an200 and my akai xr20 too. the first one came with the adaptor broken but working. Once someone wanted to steal me some money (500€) from ebay saying to me that i won a bid for an mpc 1000 black wich it was sold since 10 minutes...
i think that if you're covered by paypal you got no particular problem.
good luck
