Starting a DB-90 in sync. with the SP-555

Post by DJ NoGroove »

Hey Folks,

i started playing drums in a band and wanted to use my SP-555 for playback sounds. As i need to play in the right timing, i bought a DB-90 Metronom from Boss. Now my idea was to Start the Metronome, when playing a Pad. I allready studied the manual in detail and switched on th Tx Midi Sync to transmit midi-clock. but anyway hitting a pad does not activate the metronome. Does anyone know, how to do that? Doesn't the SP-555 send a midi-start signal, when hitting a pad?
so long,

If I'm understanding what you're trying to do correctly,

None of the SPs send out midi time code information unforunately

the SP-555s pads as far as I'm aware simply send out the note number and velocity.
Samples.

Im in the same situation, but I worked out how to do it by using the pattern sequencer.. you need to do the set up before hand. However I can't for the life of me get it to work if the time is being received from something external like my keyboard.. I need it to pass the clock info thru the 555
