hi guys,

here's a track I recently finished:

drewzle - Let Go

(you can download by clicking the mp3 button, top right of waveform)

most of the music i'm writing at the moment is in this style, with the bottom end influenced by hip-hop and breaks, and the top-end influenced more by melodic electronica.

another recent track written with these same intentions is here:

drewzle - No Drinks

i'm writing stuff that i hope people will dance to, so i'm trying to keep the drums/bass nice and stompy and the melodies shifting/interesting.

- i'm keen to hear what you guys think, please let me know

- particularly fans of electronic dance music, would you enjoy hearing/ dancing to this at a gig?

ok Drew...U got me there...I´m a big fan of electro-dance stuff 8)

on the other hand I start dancing @ about 130bpm.

Your tracks sorta reminded me about that group called Tangerine Dream especially on that 1st track "Let Go"

The no drink song ...wel I thought "ok no drink but alota acid being past around"

None the less I think it´s really good "chillout" or as I call it "Action ambient" = Action cause it has a drum groove and ambient because the tunes are so chilled.

Hope my compliments did´nt rip u apart, just writing u my honest opinion :!:

call me strange but I can just envisage a bunch of 19th century high society types waltzing to 'no drink'

except like someone spiked their tea with something crazy, and a bit of monkeys-swinging off the rafters vibe..

haha.. these tabs are mighty mental

For the other one. . I think its awesome. . nice synth work! what synth(s) did you use? .. Not really feeling it in terms of a dance track though. . More the kind of beat you can lie on a couch to or perhaps just music for mingling with a twisted mood at a chilled party.. .Maybe really twisted I could dance to this. . and it would be very fun. . but in non-distorted-time-reality. . I think maybe its a bit too chill.

cool stuff though!

thanks for the feedback guys : )

you're right...the tunes are a bit too slow for serious dancing, guess they're more for head-nodding. i don't like to get much faster than 120 bpm with this sort of stuff, so i may just focus on making things groovier rather than dancier.

synth - i was using my Roland MC-09 and also some Juno 106 samples

Yo Drewzle,
Maybe those two song cannot be classified as pure hip hop sound which I love, but they are definitely nice to listen to.

ps. I dont believe the government also ;)

cheers guys :D
Leftfield, Tangerine Dream, Can are all influences of mine, so it's great that my tracks remind you a little of these greats

actually no pK action on these tracks, but i'm about to share another new track (called Bring Your Folks) which made major use of the pK, both the pads and X-Y controller...stay tuned homie
