Basslines Tips'n tricks

Yo SP heads, how do you work on bass sound when you make a bassline? do you have any intresting tips?

I often use the subsonic efx, i resemple it without the sample, apply a vinyl sim comp, some eq (cut off the hi and the mid freq, and boost a little bit the bass) and then i resample it without peaking.
I usually set the volume of the bass sounds around 60//79 volume range.
If i filter the bassline from a sample i use the isolator filter and sometimes a little bit of eq. Share your bass tips'n tricks soopa fam!!!

I do it the same way... though I started using my microkorg+mfx for bass sounds. But generally I would say go d.it.c. and you'll get the dopest sounds in music history. (I know a clean bass is like a lottery win but just give it a try... Jazz records are good bass sources.)

I either sample and filter a bass out of a record or I use my microkorg. I wish I had the sub-sonic effect.

wow u guys make me want to get a microkorg shit i want the new one tho pshhh yeah right lolz but ive been using reason with my oxygen8 v2 to lay down the bass but im clearly still a noob at it but whateves ...its all fun for me :mrgreen:

i just came up with a new one while working on the battle beat. its simple so its probably used a lot... I resampled my kick with the sub sonic bass into all the bass 'notes' i wanted. the kick plays with the bass using only one pad, freeing up my polyphony and saving me the trouble of doing two passes thru each pattern to lay down bass and drum. of course i have some bass notes seperate as well...

i always use a synth/keyboard bass tone and play/program my basslines

which raises questions of bass patterns, etc

do you guys usually have a bass note hitting with the kickdrum?
prefer filling the space with lots of bass hits, or just round off every two bars with a dope little turn-around?
what note intervals do you find effective? (the space between notes' frequencies rather than space on a sequential grid)

Juxt always has mad bass patterns in his beats, always different and suited to the track. care to drop any knowledge on bass patterns Juxt?
