what is a good free chopping program for mac os x thanks

Yeah, it's called recycle. Acid pro will also analyze a song and chop it into pieces but not very well, you have to tweak it a lot to make it sound right, also FL Studio has a chopping feature. But none of these are free.

You could try the FL Studio or Recycle demos. Not sure about Recycle but the FL Stdio demo is fully functional with only the saving disabled. If all your using it for is the slicer you should be fine.

On Fl Studio's demo,edison is disabled :evil:

but I got a cracked version :wink:

and it's dope but I prefer chopping samples manually with my Sampletrak.

ah so recycle got autochop.. ill try it for sure.. im not using the sampler mutch for chop-up hip hop but it would be really fun to try;)

It's takes a while(depending on who of course...)to learn to chop up samples by ear but when you start master this,you'll be very glad you did

That's why I like my sp-303 so much, I choose how the chop sounds and get it done much faster the fiddling with a program. I used to use only programs to make beats but it was a lot harder to develop an idea from start to finish for me, it seems for me that if I have a big screen and a lot of features I get stuck thinking about what I could do instead of just doing it.

So true. People say that sampling on 303 is terrible because of the lack of display/waveform editor..but i think its the best chopping method i've ever used. The only guide is your ears..simple and effective.
